The Maywood Park Racetrack is a premier horse racing track located in central Melrose Park that attracts thousands of visitors each year. Usually used for harness racing, the park is a regular venue for international tournaments and large-scale events. The park is furnished with modern facilities that ensure a safe event. With a seating capacity of around 33,000, the Maywood Park Racetrack is one of the biggest tracks of the state. A beautifully renovated 1924 Spanish style movie theatre that features five auditoriums with Dolby Digital Sound. First run films are featured here and a Baby Barton pipe organ is played on Friday and Saturday evenings.
This suburban center was added to the University campus more than 20 years ago as a performance and activity space for such events as lectures, concerts, fine arts and a host of other cultural events. Formerly known as the Rosemont Horizon, Allstate Arena has 18,500 seats and 48 skyboxes and is one of the largest indoor facilities in the Chicagoland market. More than 150 events are staged annually, including musical performers such as the Boston Pops. The arena is also home to many sporting events, with the Chicago Wolves hockey team and the DePaul Blue Demons calling it home. If family entertainment is what you are after, the arena hosts such groups as the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney on Ice.

Village Players Theatre is Oak Park's longest running professional, non-equity theatre, and the 2004 recipient of the Oak Park Area Arts Council's award for "Best Comeback for an Arts Organization."
Since 1983, they have been the resident performing company of the Academy of Movement and Music in Oak Park. They have their own performing theatre and present concerts in the fall, spring and summer each year.
The Oak Park Festival Theatre performs "Classics Under The Stars", in the community's attractive Austin Gardens. Late June through late August.
