March 05, 2015 12:00 PM

Sponsored by public and private organizations.  This is the seocnd of five monthly workshops. In this session we will focus on Personal Risk Management (PRM) participants will become aware of the risks in their homes and personal lives, then discuss  how to address the various associated risks.  Insurance plays a big part in managing risk. Most people dont like discussing insurance, but when something happens and the insurance pays for a covered expense, they are relieved they had it.  This workshop contains a large amount of very vauable information, without complicated technical financial terms or product sales pitches. Participants who attend this course will learn how to set goals, make plans, and follow through on those plans for financial and life success. Interactive exercises and thought-provoking questions will stimulate participants to adopt and maintain the action habits that make personal and financial dreams a reality. Other topics highlighted during this session:   Cash Management   Investment Basics   Retirement Essentials   Estate Planning Register today or for more information, please contact: Elizabeth Pitre of the Vincita Institute at: elizabeth_pitre@vincita.org or Northeastern University's Office of City and Community Affairs at 617.373.7666.

»Boston Symphony Orchestra: Szymanowski

March 05, 2015 8:00 PM

Charles Dutoit, artistic director and principal conductor of London's Royal Philharmonic, leads the Boston Symphony Orchestra in its first performance of Polish composer Karol Szymanowski's moving opera "King Roger". Set in 12th-century Sicily and loosely based on "The Bacchae" by Euripides, "King Roger" is a favorite of Maestro Dutoit, who led the Paris, New York, Japanese and Canadian premieres of this rarely heard work, which addresses the universal struggles between paganism and intellect, intellect and wisdom, darkness and light. Featuring an internationally heralded cast headed by star Polish baritone Mariusz Kwiecien, who makes his BSO subscription series debut in the title role, these performances will be sung in Polish with English supertitles.
